Campesino de la vereda Helechales en Floridablanca, Santander, Colombia, y miembro del Colectivo de Reservas Campesinas y Comunitarias de Santander, a través del cual promueve la agroecología como herramienta para el cuidado de la casa común y todas sus formas de vida. Participa y apoya el Mercado del Buen Vivir en Bucaramanga, donde se fortalece el diálogo entre el campo y la ciudad. Además, impulsa la Escuela "¡Aprendiendo a volar con nuestras aves!" para enseñar a niños y familias campesinas sobre biodiversidad, defensa territorial, y gestión de bienes comunes. Defiende las autonomías energética, alimentaria y económica, promoviendo la solidaridad como principio fundamental.

Fernando Salazar Ferreira is a farmer and lives in the village of Helechales in Floridablanca, Santander. He is a promoter and constant learner of agroecology, member of the Collective of Peasant and Community Reserves of Santander, rooted in the issues of conservation and defense of native and creole seeds and environmental and cultural heritage. Participant of the Mercado del Buen Vivir in the La Joya neighborhood of Bucaramanga, where he is also a dynamizer in La cocina humeante, a space for dialogues and reflections between the countryside and the city around the heat of the stove and the preparation of healthy food. Promoter of the Bird School "learning to fly with our birds", a strategy for community monitoring of biodiversity for children and young farmers in the territories, which seeks to cultivate the rooting for life and rural culture.
