The Virtual Exhibition of community experiences of Just Energy Transition (TEJ) seeks to disseminate the various proposals that arise in Latin America to resist and respond to the challenges of the environmental and climate crisis locally, promoting energy autonomy of communities and organizations.
This space is a platform for visibility and exchange to generate learning that will allow us, as a society, to understand more fully the challenges of what is known as civilizational crisis and how it implies thinking and changing, collectively, the development model as a whole, and not simply changing the sources that sustain an energizing society that is walking towards the abyss.

Steps to complete the registration
We recommend that you read the following three steps in detail, so that you can prepare the information and once you have it organized, you can upload it through the form.

Fill out the
registration form
It will be available online until August 22, when applications close.
You can download the document with the questions, to prepare your answers before uploading them through the form.
2.
Send a video description of the proposal
It is sent as an attachment within the form:
Each proposer must prepare and attach to the form a video showing the Just Energy Transition experience, answering the following questions:
- Who is leading this experience?
- Why is the proposal considered as a community experience of Just Energy Transition?
- How does the experience work?
- What has been the greatest impact that this proposal has had on the well-being of the territory, family or community?
In case of any inconvenience with the form, the video should be sent to the e-mail energia@censat.org the same day the registration form is filled out.
3.
Send additional photos
Do you have photos or additional information to share?
After attaching the video, you will find in the form a field to attach photos and additional information about the community experience of just energy transition.
We suggest you select between 1 and 5 photographs of the best possible quality.
In case of any inconvenience with the form, the photos may be sent to the e-mail energia@censat.org the same day the registration form is filled out. In any case, this step is not mandatory.

Recommendations for recording the application video
A. Orientation, stability and focus
If using a cell phone, hold it horizontally. Whether cell phone or camera, hold it with both hands, as this gives greater stability to the image. If you have a tripod or some kind of suitable support for your phone, it is preferable to use it to obtain greater stability in the video.
B. Always record with the cell phone’s rear camera
The rear camera of smartphones has the best resolution, so when using it you will get the highest image quality that your cell phone can provide.
C. Take care of the lighting
If you shoot in daylight and in a place with natural light, you will have no major problem. If you shoot indoors, you should illuminate the area well with several lamps or bulbs. You should always make sure that the light source (whether natural or artificial) is not in front of the camera, but behind or above it, to avoid what is known as backlighting (excessive direct light on the camera sensor that affects image quality).
D. Avoid using zoom
The zoom of cell phones and many cameras reduces the sharpness and quality of the image. If you want to focus or concentrate on an object or person, the best thing to do is to approach slowly (if it is an object that cannot be moved) or ask the person to approach the camera.
E. Pay attention to surrounding noise
Choose a place to record away from loud noises such as traffic, people’s voices or music. If you record outdoors, do so when it is not windy, as the sound of the wind will affect the audio quality of the video. If possible, use the microphone of the hands-free headset to better record the voice.
F. Let go of your nerves, be yourself!
The charisma and naturalness of those who participate in the video will help you record an eye-catching story. Tell your energy proposal to the camera clearly and calmly, explaining in order each of the requested points. You know what you’re talking about, so project that confidence in your video. Remember that if it doesn’t come out right the first few times, no problem, you can try different ways and record several attempts until you are satisfied with the result.

Frequently Asked Questions
Can I nominate a third party organization, experience or proposal?
Many of the community experiences emerge in rural or urban areas with difficult Internet access or poor cellular signal, so information from the exhibition may not reach many people or communities that could participate. Therefore, people who know these organizations, even if they are not part of them, can apply for experiences that, due to their trajectory, they consider meet the criteria of the exhibition.
For this, please write to energia@censat.org or use this contact form, and indicate the location of the experience, give a brief description and provide some contact information (telephone, preferably). Our team will review this information and may contact the community directly to explain in detail the call for the exhibition and support their applications.
Can I apply for more than one experience from the same organization?
Yes, it is possible. You must only complete the registration steps separately for each of the experiences you wish to apply for, since the registration is not per organization, but per proposal.
What if I can’t submit the video and I have only filled out the form?
In order for the registration to be valid and the experiences to be considered in the call, the video is an indispensable requirement. If you have problems doing so, please write to energia@censat.org or use this contact form to help us support you in the process. In any case, the registration dates must be carefully considered, as no applications will be received after August 22, 2023.
Why should I participate in TEJ’s Virtual Exhibition of Community Experiences?
The virtual exhibition, in addition to encouraging those who have undertaken the local construction of energy alternatives, just transition or construction of popular energy proposals, seeks to motivate new groups and organizations to implement community energy practices so that, gradually, community experiences grow and bear fruit, contributing to the mitigation of the climate and environmental crisis.
It is hoped that the reflections that emerge from this process and the tools built can be used at local, national and international levels and, of course, serve to support advocacy exercises oriented towards the construction of public energy policies, with a community approach, where the role played by women and youth groups in the construction of just and sustainable societies is also highlighted, made visible and promoted.
