Photovoltaic systems for the El Edén Senior Citizens’ Home Foundation

The El Edén Home for the Elderly Foundation launched the solar energy project in 2018, which aimed to improve the quality of life of the elderly, through access to clean and continuous energy to carry out various leisure activities and, incidentally, to take care of their health in a simpler and more practical way.

The farm is sustainable and contributes to the reduction of contamination of water sources, for the improvement of the quality of life in the area to supply the energy demand in the Guaini village.

Solar energy for island life

There was no energy in the area apart from the biomass of the wetland they inhabited. When thinking about solar energy, the objective was to improve living conditions and generate a sense of belonging to the territory among the members of the organization, who defend the island way of life and the protection of the ecosystem.

The photovoltaic system is integrated to a rainwater harvesting system and to the operation of a water pump, which is used for the irrigation of a community nursery. The system belongs to the El Aguirre Committee of the Municipal Association of Peasant Women of Lebrija – Ammucale, located in Vereda El Aguirre, peasant reserve «Los Naunos», municipality of Lebrija.
